GEEZ!This woman should serve time, but also so should the politicians who have made haters feel the freedom to act out their pathetic squalls, and so should media who give haters the airwaves, so they infect people.

The 43-year-old Burchard-Risch yelled at the woman and threw a drink at her, and she brushed off managers attempts to calm her down.
I was sitting turned around like this and all of a sudden I feel something thrown on my face boom, said the victim, Asma Jama. My cousin started screaming and everyone wanted to run away.
Jama told her assailant that she had a free speech right to converse with her family in Swahili.
Then Burchard-Risch smashed her beer mug across the womans face in a roundhouse punch motion before running away, police said.

(871 posts)With all the hate being generated by the GOP, this type of act should come as no surprise. I believe the frequency will only increase.

(15,396 posts)because he knows how to speak Swahili. He'll be preaching along and toss in a word or phrase here and there then tell us what it means. Over the past 16 years he's taught us almost the whole language. LOL

(24,411 posts)listen to a steady dose of Fox News, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage for years.
These fools are so doped up on fear and hate, that their humanity and common sense has been driven out of them.
Have you ever tried to talk to one of these morons? I have, and it's exasperating.
They only know talking points. They spew their little soundbytes with such emotion, but when you refute their balderdash with facts, they move on to the next ridiculous lie.
And when you ask them to site sources, they say things like, "I read it in Sean Hannity's book!"
My husband and I were having a discussion with a Glenn Beck fan and the guy actually said, "Look. I get my information from many sources. I do like Beck, but I also read books by Hannity, O'Reilly and Mark Levin."
My husband replied, "Getting information from varied sources doesn't mean reading the books that Glenn Beck tells you to read."
Seriously. These people are off-the-charts nimrods. They are married to their ignorance. They are proud of it.
What we're dealing with here is tens of thousands of "Cousin Eddies" who are now experts on Middle-East policy and macroeconomics--simply because Fox News fills their brains with garbage and tells them that they're the brilliant ones because they *dare* to look beyond the liberal media.
It's crazy.

Of course, I was in Minneapolis, not St. Paul....
I think I'll pass on a third visit. It will take a lot of rinse cycles for the Chamber of Commerce to wash out this stain.

(85,373 posts)I now live in Ann Arbor because it suits my family's needs better.
I am referring to culture...Detroit had mosques in the 60's, lots of Lebanese refugees, and lots of tolerance as a city of immigrants. Ann Arbor today has the same, it's a small city with big city amenities, but not big scale city problems. Not saying it's Nirvana, just that it's not limited by its assumptions.
Logical
(22,457 posts)Most the people there are over the top nice. I vacation there a week every year since I was 3 years old.
Have not spent much time in the big cities.
Maybe the fact I live in Kansas now makes Minn seem very liberal!

(5,519 posts)This woman isn't representative of the people there. Many are younger "hipster" types, and there's a large Somalian and West African population there.
