we're not having much fun in either of the primaries running up to 2016, are we?

Don't know about you, but I'm feeling like it's a daily slog out there. Where's the joy?

I love Bernie but I don't exactly feel the bern. Clinton has perked and droops again. O'Malley is just O'kay to me...

On the other side, can there be a more depressing line-up? Watching Jeb is like watching paint dry. Carly just injects venom into the political veins. Tired of looking at Huckabee's face and hearing his schtick. Rubio isn't exactly a rock star. Cruz's most interesting feature are his eyebrows jumping around. Kasich...um...

Why can't we have nicer things in these run-ups to the big event? Where's the magic? When did the music stop?

2. I feel ya. I'd be so much happier with a race between Kelsey Grammar & George Clooney

Imagine a vice presidential debate between Margaret Cho and Dennis Miller. Our country has so much more promise. But no, we keep on getting these people who just care about stupid policy questions.

just not a lot of meat on those bones, policy wise. Or much conviction and passion.

The policy questions to which you refer IS the "music." It has to be. Because we all have to dance in them. We NEED to get passionate again. Why am I not seeing it?

Don't get me wrong. I'll work for Bernie in the primary despite his being written off by the media. I love my state during the primaries because we have so many great Dems but this year I am not feeling it.

We did have the passion with Elizabeth Warren. Maybe she was onto something...

I just feel it starts way too soon and then we are dragging our sorry asses to the polls to vote a year later.

a bit spoiled after 08. I know I am. Many of us are. We had an incredible line up of intelligent democrats on stage to start. I was so proud to be a democrat. It was exciting to the bloody end.

But that was a once in a lifetime primary and GE. I think we need to remember that.

8. The after effects of the 2004 campaign took its toll, too. I had been a HUGE John Edwards

supporter but that aftermath made me say NO MORE to someone I really believed in with all that passion.

And yes, you are right. 2008 was downright exciting. Electing our first black president was thrilling. I remember saying that I felt this country had turned a corner by doing that and we would be so much the better country for it.

Boy, was I wrong...

7. Both primaries are completely filled with uninspiring candidates

I can't get excited about the dem primary and can't even get angry over the repubs because both seem to be the walking dead. They just don't deliver on credibility so I can actually believe and get fired up.

Wtf is wrong with politics in this country? I give more credibility to the claims of some of the posters here and can get more
Fired up a thread or two here than when I listen to those people.

It is hard to maintain enthusiasm for eighteen months. The republican circus is kind of entertaining, though. It should get more exciting starting with the Iowa caucuses.

Imagine what a slog it is for the candidates. Ugh.
