No other candidate, on either side, is allowed to go on and on without paying for it. I think he's now been bla bla blaing for about 40 minutes, but who's counting.

(14,449 posts)Clearly people want to hear him. Otherwise he'd be left in the history books. Saturday night live will probably pull in the highest rating this season if not more. Blame the populous not trump.

(67,109 posts)Trump would be OK with me. I used to work for guys like that and they ran a good ship! Most of the other republican hopefuls are off their rockers. Imagine Carson as president. Yuck!

What in God's name would make you think he'd run a good ship?

(2,062 posts)As I see it... maybe I am wrong, but in his new book, he spells out his presidential plans. So instead of just telling us, we have to buy his book? ok so now will these right wing zealots finally understand this guy doesn't want to be president, but wants too sell more books and make more money.... The democrats need to POUNCE on this ASAP..... this guy is a real wack.

(25,251 posts)I'm thinking that he is playing the networks on this. As long as they give him air time - he'll continue his conference and take questions - but as soon as the networks break away and he is no longer their center of attention - I'm thinking his people signal him and he ends the conference.
That's a great way to get the air time and not pay for it. As long as he keeps calling these news conferences and the networks give him airtime - he'll continue to do it for free.

(12,608 posts)they call ACA (Obamacare) a disaster, but never explain how it is a disaster. Never do their interviewers ask them to explain this or prove it.

(9,463 posts)...discussing what he said earlier.
Mrs Greenspan and the gang are talking about him and his campaign right now on MSNBC, as well as showing clips from his press conference earlier - and they're plugging his book of course. And they'll stretch that 40 minutes of presser coverage throughout the rest of the day.
They focused on him in the run-up of his ratings and now that he's down, they're back to attempt to raise his polling again. I mean damn, they do have to fill lots of airtime between now and the election and keep people filing past the monkey pen at their little zoo.

(528 posts)The news isn't interested in being objective or in informing the public. They are interested in ratings which lead to higher revenue. Trump is entertaining to everyone, the right because he is channeling the hatred they actually believe and they are tired of the "sensible" politicians spouting abstract rhetoric. They just want someone to come out and say "hang the n******!" The left thinks Trump is hilarious and watch everything he says because of it's absurdity. Trump sells. Everyone buys.
