(7,911 posts)Your vote counts as your I.Q./100. Have a 50 I.Q.? your vote counts as 0.50 votes. Have a 150 I.Q.? your vote is worth 1.5 votes.
I figure that would double the number of effective Democratic votes and cut the number of effective Republican votes in half. Every election would be a Democratic landslide.

(1,484 posts).......how do you explain fucking Ted Cruz having graduated from Oxford?

(1,484 posts)....but my parents were died-in-the-wool Eisenhower repukes. But that didn't stop me from seeking on my own, an education that taught me how to think critically. My latest theory is that some people just have a proclivity towards self serving greed. But I also think that having empathy for others is something that each of us must learn from our experiences, as we grow in our lives. What do you think?

(7,231 posts)even Eisenhower Republicans could still teach empathy to their children. Let's face it: Obama's administration sometimes represents policies in line with, or even to the right of, those of Eisenhower.
Whatever your parents taught you, it was not self-serving greed. You may have disagreed with their political expression of the values your parents imparted on you, but you share a lot of their core beliefs.
I would surmise that Mr. Cruz shares a lot of his father's core beliefs too. And self-serving greed is one of them.

(7,911 posts)I've noticed Republicans in my circle of family and friends are the ones with the most locks on their doors, and burglar alarms on their windows. They are the ones that flinch when a heavy truck drives by and say "What was that?" at every little unfamiliar noise. They are the ones who assume that a new neighbor is probably a terrorist or rapist, or worse, gay. They are the ones who worry, out loud, about absurd scenarios that are way beyond improbable and well into impossible territory.
Years ago my daughter got a job with a small startup (that has since become very successful) and one Republican family member, upon hearing about her new job, looked worried and asked "What if they don't pay her?" Who would even have that "threat" cross their mind, let alone feel that it was important to voice that threat and take it seriously.
THAT is the typical Republican mind. Afraid of everything, jumping at shadows, flinching at noises, making sure every door and window is securely locked when you go outside to pull weeds in the front yard. To then the world is a dangerous place and everyone else is out to get them if they ever let their guard down. I think of it as sub-clinical paranoia, or at a minimum hypervigilance.

(1,683 posts)What will that do for our base? Our voting numbers do not come from "limousine liberals" or "parlor pinks".
