People here are echoing corporate media memes about the DNC not helping in WI. THAT is the real problem, not some manufactured lack of DNC commitment to WI. It is complete and utter NONSENSE. They've given $1.4 million in money and/or organizational help with national fundraising appeals and Wasserman-Schultz coming soon for more fundraising. The DCCC is in. The DGA is in. Other national groups like Bold Progressives and MoveOn are in. Wasserman said this is a very important election with strong national implications. However, when ASKED if a Dem loss would mean Obama would lose nationally, she simply replied that such recalls are essentially STATE level elections with STATE level dynamics, and, NO, he would still win nationally including in WI. So let's stop the nonsense, stop the hyperbole, listen to the FACTS, and just get on with doing everything we can to win in ALL places, including this June 5th in WI.
Dem Party Chairman in WI Mike Tate says there is no lack of DNC commitment and THANKS them for their help. Also, just for the record, I myself just donated AGAIN to the Barrett campaign from Maine and have also given to the WI Dems several time. So people here should stop complaining about the DNC based on corporate media crap out of the AP and the Washington Post and start DONATING to the cause THEMSELVES. You can even make calls from ANY state, and I have done that too.

(3,450 posts)I have this nagging feeling that the leadership of the democratic party is primarily made up of Third Way/DLC/semi-DINO people. And that they are, purposefully, inept in order not to allow the full effect of liberal/left-wing policies to come to the fore of the democratic party. Whenever the advantage is leaning towards the left of the political spectrum, the leadership of the democratic party somehow will fritter away the advantage one way or another. They tend to make sure that the rePIGs are not completely knockout when the tide is against the rePIGs. I can see the need to not completely eliminate right-wing politics in the governance of the country, but to allow them recovery to the extent that right-wing nuts are far more dominant of all groups - is totally absurd.

7 weeks ago they authorized 1.4 Million for QUOTE NATIONAL fundraising in Wisconsin...NOT for this fight... In fact it has been reported by both the DNC and the Directory of the Democratic party that out of that 1.4 Million they received $500,000...
The rest of the quote SUPPORT...is for gearing up the national Obama campaign drive...
The DCCC is in. The DGA is in. Other national groups like Bold Progressives and MoveOn are in.
These are other groups and NOT the DNC now are they?...and they also have stated they are supporting the Barrett campaign AND gearing up for national elections...They can't do it all...
Wasserman said this is a very important election with strong national implications.
However, when ASKED if a Dem loss would mean Obama would lose nationally,
she simply replied that such recalls are essentially STATE level elections with STATE level dynamics, and, NO, he would still win nationally including in WI. How fucking brain dead is this answer? Or is it as I suspect she is trying to screw the Democratic party.
Local and State Elections are MORE important to me than even the Obama presidency at least at this point in time since the 2012 is still months away and the recall is here TODAY!!!
If you are actually a DEMOCRAT that want's change and the return to sanity...OBAMA alone as president can't do jack **** if all the senators, representatives and state governors are raving fanatical lunatics who would sell their mothers and the water we drink for cash in their back pockets...COME ON Wake the HELL up! the President is one man...he can tell the ship where he would LIKE it to go...but it is the Senators, Representative and Governors that DRIVE the ship...and control how the STATES function or not function...and what rights their citizens will enjoy...
Are you catching on yet to the reality of Political Theory?
Yeah a little loss in Wisconsin doesn't matter ...even if the governor has virtually declared himself king and has stripped everyones rights, social services, regional political representation... and sold all of the mineral rights to private parties...
HELL even of we get rid of him it will take 20 years of litigation to fix all the things he has broken...
This proves to me at least, I am convinced she is another one of those damn capitulating middle way appeasers that for all I know is a mole for the Republicans or the Koch's Empire...I have followed her for months, and she always is either putting her foot in her mouth or doing too little too late to be EFFECTIVE!!! She needs to go...Bring back Dean and watch the party grow...
Dem Party Chairman in WI Mike Tate says there is no lack of DNC commitment and THANKS them for their help.
And what do you expect him to say if he wants to keep his position? Duhhuh
Also, just for the record, I myself just donated AGAIN to the Barrett campaign from Maine and have also given to the WI Dems several time.
Good for you but this has nothing to do with your original OP premise...
So people here should stop complaining about the DNC based on corporate media crap out of the AP and the Washington Post and start DONATING to the cause THEMSELVES. You can even make calls from ANY state, and I have done that too.
Yeah because you know...a few thousand of us is equal to the DNC organizations money and infrastructure in total...snark!
one more:
and Wasserman-Schultz coming soon for more fundraising.
Well bully for fucking her and the DNC...when are they coming? AFTER the recall election is done? Do you think many of the Wisconsinites that have bleed for this recall are going to welcome this turd blossom with open arms when she shows up after the fact?
They answer is hell no..too little too late...as I think she intended...
Focusing only on the presidential race to the detriment of the most charged recall in 100 years to save Democracy from the Plutarch's is the most myopic, stupid, lame, incompetent thing I have ever seen a Democratic group do.
If the recall fails? I for one will blame her personally, it doesn't mean I will stop being involved and supporting Democrats and I will of course work for Obama again for the next election...It just means I will have to hold my nose and keep my mouth shut when she is in the room.

(31,237 posts)Wasserman-Schultz is just this week's whipping boy, or girl, as the case may be. I maintain that this crap was made up by someone who got hold of a poll showing Walker winning, and decided to pre-emptively scapegoat the DNC, Pres. Obama, DWS and anyone else to save their own face, in the event of an embarrassing loss. It's shameful, because the m$m has exploited this and made a local story into one of national import. The people of WI know the stakes much better than any of us, and no amount of money can fix stupid.
That being said, I hope the recall is successful, but having seen that poll indicating that 40% of union households plan on voting to reelect Walker is truly baffling. How much responsibility does the candidate bear for not connecting with these families? Is the DNC expected to save Wisconsonites from themselves?

(1,558 posts)How can you read my reply and think I am anti-democratic or trying to sow division?
What? Am I now not allowed to voice my opinion and observations?
Are you GOD and your opinion is of course the only opinion that has validity?
Spoken like a true Republican bubba.
NOW finally they are making phone calls for a week and a half before the recall election ending JUNE 6th! is over is not support!
where the hell have they been for the last 6 months...
Yes, great, better late thank never...except...
being late to the party shows a lack of commitment except to their national constituents.
And I for one am disgusted with the way the DNC has been run since they got rid of Dean.
Take that with your division and sow it where the sun...
