First off, the heart is not in any way a part of our thinking or emotions.
This is an outdated meme from thousands of years ago when people had no real idea what that stuff inside our skulls was for.
Second, A religious experience is driven by intense emotions, which can give a person a "high." (Euphoria)
And third, contrary to Klinegenschmitt's rantings, this is not "science."
Gordon Klingenschmitt Has A 'Scientific Method' That Proves The Existence Of God
Submitted by Kyle Mantyla on Monday, 11/2/2015 11:54 am
On his "Pray In Jesus Name" program recently, Colorado Republican state Rep. Gordon Kilngenschmitt offered up a scientific test that can prove the existence of God once and for all.
Responding to a recent interview in which atheist Richard Dawkins said that he would change his mind about the existence of God as soon as someone shows him some evidence, Klingenschmitt eagerly took up the challenge.
"You want evidence of God?," he asked. "I can give you evidence of God. In fact, I'll show you God; all you've got to do is repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and invite him to come into your heart. Now this is a scientific method. I'm giving you step A: you repent; step B: you believe; step C: you invite Jesus Christ to come into your heart as Lord and Savior. Follow that scientific method and I guarantee you will see Jesus Christ."
Those who refuse to follow this "scientific method," Klingenschmitt explained, will never discover the proof of God's existence because they have have not "followed the method that works."

The heart does truly follow.
My own heart pumps blood a little too aggressively at times so I take meds for that. And my mind visits some very, very dark and random places. I take meds for that too. I suspect my nightmares and depressions would be deadly to others. Fortunately I have lots of practice with these things and my OCD self knows I couldn't do the things I need to do if I was dead. Corpses don't feed the dogs, tend the garden, write the code, or pluck "bad" hairs from their faces.
It's always been a curious thing to me that the most extreme fundamentalists of all stripes are the ones who no longer hear the voices in their head, or those who never did but would very much like to. The Agony of Mother Teresa. Left behind, they are. (I've never been so fortunate.)
My own good fortune as a human being is to always hear very many conflicting voices in my head and in my heart, a few good voices and a few evil, the rest just shit-for-brains crazy. Most of which I can safely ignore. I always do what seems the right to do at the time, and mostly I live in peace with the consequences.
I'm a scientist-engineer by discipline and training, because I must be. I know the universe is very big and the human brain is very small. None of us know shit about "reality" and we never will. So best be kind. Don't be mean.
Nevertheless the deliberately ignorant piss me off. If you don't know what you are talking about, or you are trying to jerk off in your dark closet hell, please keep it to yourself. Nobody wants to see you do that except your fellow perverts.
