Operation KKK Is Beginning To Unmask Hate Group Members
http://techcrunch.com/2015/11/01/operation-kkk-is-beginning-to-unmask-hate-group-members/
Posted 11 hours ago by John Biggs (@johnbiggs)
Operation KKK, an Anonymous-led effort to shut down the Ku Klux Klan, has begun in earnest. The main Twitter account is reporting that many KKK-related sites are down after concerted hacking efforts and that more are to come as they prepare for an action called HoodsOff on November 5.
...............
In some parts of the Internet attacks are already happening. A self-styled anti-hate group hacker who calls himself Amped Attacks and has taken down the official website for the Westboro Baptist Church in addition to a number of KKK websites. Most damaging, however, is his claim that he hacked into KKK websites and gathered identifying information for a number of state senators and mayors whose addresses appeared in KKK databases.

I am a middle aged African American Muslim male. As a child I experienced the Watts Riots, the chaos after the assassination of MLK. I remember experiencing racisim for the first time as a child born in the west and transplanted to New Orleans during the erosion of overt segregation in the south. I also remember of all people, George Wallace ,apologizing for his racist past. I remember that Chief Justice Brennan, also a former Klan member , was responsible for some of the most far reaching opinions in favor of social justice and civil rights. For all what we imagine separates whites and blacks in this country in particular, there are ties and bonds unseen that keep us together.Senator Robert Byrd has seen it all in his 90 years. As my grandma used to say.." What he has forgotten you could make a whole other world with". The capacity for someone raised in the times and environment he was is truly remarkable and testament to his great character and courage. I have ENORMOUS respect for the senior senator from West Virginia . May God bless him and give him long life as well as give him peace here and hereafter.

I got the information from several KKK websites when I [hacked] them and was able to dump their database. Im not even sure this is worth responding to, but for the record: There is a list circulating online purporting to out elected officials as members of the KKK. For reasons unfathomable to me or anyone who knows me, my name is on the list. Given my background, my interracial family, my public record and my personal beliefs, this would be hilarious except that it is probably being seen by a lot of people who have no idea who I am.
So, just to be clear, for anyone who doesnt know me: Dont be ridiculous. I began my political career working for the rights of farm workers with Cesar Chavez. I have spent decades working for causes of social justice and equality. As Mayor, I have pushed for diversity in our workforce and outreach to and inclusion of people of all backgrounds in our community. In concert with President Obamas My Brothers Keeper program, I began the Save Our Sons initiative to increase opportunities and reduce violence-related deaths among boys and young men of color. I have advocated publicly for LGBT civil rights, and I was the only mayor in Tennessee to sign onto the mayors amicus brief for the plaintiffs in the Supreme Courts marriage equality case. In short, I dont think the KKK would want anything to do with me.
I strongly request that anyone associated with the creation and dissemination of this false and defamatory accusation retract it immediately. It is irresponsible and slanderous. (Although, on a positive note, I do appreciate that they are using a picture of me from 12 years ago. Very flattering!)

Racism. Nationalism. Ethnocentrism. Xenophobia.
Authoritarianism. Hostility. Aggression.

Again, my only point is that being gay doesn't make people magically not racist. I have no personal knowledge of Jim Gray's racism or lack thereof. I'm only suggesting that it's possible and that his 'gayness' doesn't automatically mean anything, one way or the other regarding whether or not he is a racist.
If he's had nothing to do with the KKK, campaign contributions or otherwise, I'm sure that will be easily proven and he will be rightfully vindicated.
