Amy Goodman Quotes DU on MSNBC Live

Just now, on the Chris Hayes show, talking about the Facebook Debacle.

I'd love to find the thread she quoted from. Someone listed 8 points of the Facebook Fiasco where banks and politicians manipulated and profitted.

Good job, DU !

I found it.. she quoted this entire OP:

I think the panel was a bit stunned with how strong that quote was!

that passes for discussion on most talk news shows. I was really impressed with his panelists and the in depth level of discussion.
I felt like I actually had a better understanding of the issues they discussed instead of feeling slimed with ignorant talking points as I often do. I would recommend his show to everyone. It's on Sat. and Sun. mornings from 8-10am on MSNBC. And no, I don't have any connection to the show

so ask yourself why you don't see it on PBS tv stations. PBS is always soliciting donations and they say that programs cost money. Why don't they use what is free?

KQED in San Francisco, and KRCB in Santa Rosa... that's Sf Bay Area..

I worked in small NPR station and when Amy was first distributing DN! for free our station was very reluctant at first to broadcast.. (they did eventually) ...

The reason for their hesitation? They were worried they might lose their "listener base" if they hear radical voices on the air.. well what they actually meant, was they feared losing their FUNDING base, vis a vis CPB and wealthier (individual) sponsors...

It's not always about the money, but generally it is.. they started getting a lot of pressure from the community after the invasion of Iraq and that was the tilting point.

Community has to pressure the stations, both NPR stations and PBS stations. But remember they're both really very much part of the Corporate Media paradigm, in solid with the 1%.. The News Hour is freaking joke, and so is ATC for that matter/Morning Edition.. they're all presstitutes.. every single one of them.

I met her in Oregon, and as she signed my copy of "The Exception to the Rulers" I asked her if she read Democratic Underground. She said no, asked me what it was, and wrote down the website address.

So I got that goin' for me.

I've been reading Amy Goodman and Democracy Now for years so it was really exciting to see her read something I wrote. I was also surprised that MSNBC had her on their network as MSNBC, like the rest of the MSMedia, is mostly propaganda. I was also surprised to see Joe Weisenthal who I've seen a few times on RT.

Kudos to MSNBC for putting people with integrity on the network and kudos to Chris Hayes for at least discussing the massive corruption that exists today.

I would have likely never heard of it as I rarely watch MSNBC. "Up with Chris Hayes" looks like a good show, on a MSMedia network no less. Here's the link to the program mentioning DU:

That was pretty cool. For those who wish to watch, Amy's DU mention is at about the 8+(?) or 10(?) minute mark (sorry, don't remember exactly- but it's somewhere in the time frame. Closer to 10-something, I think)

Love Amy Goodman! My thanks to the OP for the thread and just1voice for the link.

Seen Obama supporters say otherwise on Twitter, and she too wasn't nice to Gore or Kerry, especially with the Skulls and Bones comments.

She seems to be liberal, but has no problem dissing a liberal when it's cool to do so.
