A civil lawsuit filed against four former employees of an embattled Omaha event-planning company will be heard in court after a Douglas County district judge on Thursday denied the employees’ motion to have the lawsuit dismissed.

The lawsuit, which was filed by Patricia Urbanovsky, owner of Creative Creations, alleges the four former employees conspired to deceive her and either embezzled or misappropriated company funds.

The four former employees — Steven Finkle, Ryan Sheetz, Kelly Gressman and Kim McKeone — deny the allegations.

Burke J. Harr, an Omaha attorney who is representing Sheetz, Gressman and McKeone, said the judge’s decision was merely a “technical motion. It’s to find out the who, what and why of what they are alleging.”
