I've never done one of these before in the entire time I been on. But Chris Lavoie, the Executive Producer of the Stephanie Miller Show is leaving in two weeks. Chris has been with Stephanie Miller since 1997. He's an awesome, smart, intelligent and caring guy. He's going to be the PR Manager for a casino in Palm Springs. I'm crying as I don't like change especially when I would see his cheery face. Would you all join me in wishing him well? I would say more but it's kind of emotional for me as I type this. I need a drink.

(26,286 posts)I can't even imagine Stephanie without Chris. But then I couldn't imagine Stephanie and Chris without Jim.
It goes without saying that I wish Chris the best.
Mama's gonna need some box wine reinforcements.

(23,558 posts)and Stephanie Miller is scraping to get by and had her show cancelled in cities where the ratings were good to be replaced with shows where the ratings are awful. The rich and powerful control so much. It's just sad.

(365 posts)I love Chris!
He and Stephanie verbally bounce off each other so well. I also love how he is with RW callers; he pins them down and makes them answer the question after they try to divert the subject.
Poor Mama...I want to hug her! I wonder who is going to be her on air partner now?

(1 post)I hope this isn't the proverbial writing on the wall. First she had to cut Jim and work out of her basement. Now, within just a couple of weeks, both Travis and Chris are leaving. I hope it's not one of those things where they're running out of money and Steph told them they might want to look for other jobs before the end.

(2,047 posts)Been listening to Steph loyally since Day One. Jim's departure was a much much bigger tragedy & she went on. Chris, I want to be generous, is no Jim Ward (no one is). And now Steph won't be contradicted, corrected, & cut down for three hours a day. I think it's a good thing for her.

(1 post)Have been listening to stephanie miller for years, she is talented, smart and funny. She has also had a lot of talented contributors over the years including jim ward. every time chris opens his mouth, i cringe. Who wants to listen to him when he is sitting next to one of the most talented and funny hosts on radio. Good luck in your new career Chris, i won't miss you one bit.

(2,047 posts)I didn't want to rain on the Chris Appreciation thread, but hoo boy how glad I am to see him go. He steps on every funny line & ruins the comedy timing of the show. Why she would have a snotty, supercilious killjoy as her co-host was a mystery to me. Good luck, Chris. Now go.

I have been watching since the early FSTV days. I was really worried when Jim left, and I wasn't sure if you could fill the void. You have definitely grown from a "radio producer" to a "radio personality", so I am really surprised you are leaving the business. As a producer you are obviously very talented and really held things together. I've always been amazed by your abilities to trigger those soundbites and do all the other technical stuff while staying engaged with the show.
It will be great to have Jim back full time, and the dynamic with Steph, Jim, and John M should be very interesting and different.
Looking forward to the new incarnation of the show very much!
Chris - I hope life in Palm Springs treats you well. Make sure you call in or visit the show once in a while!!
Welcome back Jim, and Welcome to John Melendez!
