I am dismayed

I love my wife dearly and her family and she is usually very grounded in reality but her mother believes the worn long debunked rumor that, Obama cancelled The National Day of Prayer but lets Muslims pray and also he is letting Muslims come in unchecked and we will be soon come under sharia law and we MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. He mother voted for Obama in 2008 and I can't believe rational people believe such nonsense. It saddens me that both can succumb to such irrational beliefs.
I have tried in vain to debunk this stuff but facts be damned its TRUE! I was not going to make this a source of argument so I just dropped it and gave up on it.
It makes my blood blood boil this kinds of crap takes root in peoples minds. I know these are both old Obama smears that have been floating around since he became President to have it come up again is just dismaying.
I am not seeking any solutions to this cause frankly this is none when rational thought leaves the building there is no hope of getting in back in.

That will change the playing field a little and maybe give you an opening to talk sense.
That, or just chalk it up to duh.
