Meet the Prohibition Party nominee for President

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Hedges

Hedges is a former tax assessor from Pennsylvania. He played tuba in the Marine Corps band and was editor of the National Speleological Society's journal.

There's something kind of touchingly earnest about all of that.

The party's platform is, not surprisingly, based on the prohibition of alcohol, as well as tobacco, pornography, and gambling. They also advocate the end of all foreign aid and foreign military deployments, strict non-intervention in international disputes, the abolition of the Federal Reserve system, an end to the current trade agreement system, making Social Security participation voluntary, the outlawing of abortion, and the construction of a fortified fence on America's southern border.

Hedges was nominated by the Prohibition national convention which took place as a conference call (4 years ago they were in a Holiday Inn Express in Alabama). His running mate is Bill Bayes of Mississippi. They currently have ballot access only in Arkansas.
