General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI see Facebook cited on DU all the time.
What's the general consensus here abt Facebook? Good? Bad? I personally find it kind of Orwellian and creepy so surprised that so many on DU embrace it.

My guess is that we'll have a FB (or something similar) for the rest of human history, better get used to it.

(22,484 posts)FB and some long lost friends too. I will always be grateful to it for that. I love that I can go on and see what my cousins, who I haven't seen in 45 years are up to. I've even gotten to meet one in person, considering they mostly live in another country that is really saying something. FB has been great for me.

(31,011 posts)there are times I absolutely hate it, but it's been wonderful to stay in touch with family and share photos. I've reconnected with old friends.
Right now, I love it because timeline is no longer the bane of my existence.

(6,336 posts)I use it to stay in touch with political people (all of the "people you may know" that come up for me are state legislators), for work (again in the political field), and to stay in touch with out of state friends and family.
It's also a very good way to share photos (I hate emailing photos) and free online storage. I have very tight privacy settings.
