Penis selfie leads to gang member receiving 14 year federal prison sentence

DENVER – A picture a gang member took of his penis with his gun, along with some drugs, helped federal investigators put him in prison for a long time.

Jonathan Thomas Fricks, 34, was sentenced to more than 14 years in federal prison after he pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime on June 8, 2015. Fricks was sentenced September 22, 2015.

Fricks has an extensive criminal history, with at least one stint in prison and multiple arrests in different jurisdictions across the Front Range.

According to investigators, in a glove compartment of the car Fricks was riding in, agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives found a photograph of a man's penis with a 9mm pistol, multiple baggies of suspected drugs, a Gucci belt and a gold chain.
