http://www.al.com/opinion/index.ssf/2015/10/martha_roby_clinton_offers_eva.html#incart_riverDon't bother reading all her blah-blah-blah.
Just scroll down to the comments.
Not what she expected.
Scorching.
Roby makes all the people who continue to vote for her look like dunces.
Eleven hours of inane drivel later, the Republicans are still the stupid party.
From what I saw yesterday, the Select Committee on Taking Out Hillary Clinton could screw up a steel ball.
I'm sure the calculation here was, an op/ed in a friendly place focusing on grilling Clinton would, regardless of the details, be useful down home. It might get a few votes, maybe, at least it would save face a bit. Assume that few people will remember the details or glance at the transcript and who cares what the national press things about it. In fact, given Ms. Roby's freshman Tea Party status, she can thrive for a while on negative press.
However, even in the most optimistic reading of the exchange, Roby comes off as someone who either doesn't have a clue or is too stupid to buy a clue. Take a look at the transcript: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/10/22/transcript-clinton-testifies-before-house-committee-on-benghazi/. Clinton handles the question--a rather breathtakingly stupid question--with some aplomb. Clinton answer the question--a meaningless question about what two fairly minor staffs might think about her management of the Benghazi consulate--with some aplomb, though she does eventually give in to the ridiculousness of the situation, a sitting Representative acting like a third grader, and laughs in Roby's face.

(22,147 posts)2. Roby really messed up her 15 minutes of fame. Clearly out of her league.
She reminded me of a junior high student giving their first ever speech. So painful.
