(36,988 posts)How About a Maximum Wage? : Taxation: F.D.R. wanted to cap incomes of the wealthy--an idea whose time may have come again.

(8,175 posts)Concentration of wealth is a big part of it, and according to Picketty's data, wealth grows faster than economic output, so balancing wages alone will never control the inequality of wealth. We need a way to prevent an increase in both. So what? Capital gains tax increases may be part of it. Estate taxes can be used to alleviate some of it.
Minimum and Maximum wages could possibly work together to help with the aspect of income inequality.

(41,857 posts)the Rich have been having their attorneys find loopholes so they wouldn't have to pay any taxes. What was it? GE? General Electric, who didn't have to pay a thing this year? That's a total right there...

If you honestly agree with the above, you best choice is Sen Sanders that isn't beholden to those "wealthiest Americans" that need to be taxed.

(39,909 posts)Thousands of people have died in the Red States that did NOT expand Medicaid,
yet the Democratic Party is SILENT about this.
I would spend whatever it took to wall paper these states will Billboards, and a death count clock, that tells the people of these states exactly what has happened.
This year XXXXX number of people residing in your state DIED because YOUR Republicans refused to accept FREE MONEY from the government to help them.
If you had a Democratic government in your state, every single one of them could have gone to a doctor.
When RICH people get sick, they go to a doctor.
You could do that too if with a Democratic Governor.
I wonder WHY the Democratic Party Leadership does NOT keep a running total of the number of Americans the Republicans have killed this year.
I would make it a daily update, and announce it to the American People every day.
