I saw somebody on Freeperville complaining that Fox had purged all the existing reader comments and you could no longer comment on articles there.
There were a couple of tin-foil theories on why but, thinking as I do that Fox is just the Pravda branch of the RNC, I think they have concluded that the CREEEPY reader comments did not represent "conservatism" very well.
Or maybe they represented it TOO well?
Anyway, lurking Freepers, I think your Fox News misinformers are humiliated to be publicly associated with you weirdos, just IMO. Maybe the Whitney Houston comments were the last straw. That was some sick racist shit and was getting a fair amount of attention!

(14,549 posts)- People who scroll through comments and rant back don't click on ads. Therefore it is just bandwidth without income.
- Too many death threats, threats on the President or other posts that require law enforcement investigations
but I would rule out embarrassment since this is Fox we are talking about.

(15,667 posts)They constantly make the case that they are not racist and the Trayvon Martin / Whitney Houston / pretty much ANY black person stories kind of reveals that they are the preferred network of the Stormfront/Freeper crowd.

And I thought Pakistan was our "friend". Also, has anyone else noticed the comment boards have all but disapearred from the articles? It's been that way for almost a week and so far this is the only article that has a comment board.

(15,667 posts)I can't imagine why that article would have comments and all the others not....very curious!
It seems some bloggers have been showcasing some of the comments like these:

In any event, it appears to be a case of one sc u m bag Cuban-type (Zimmerman) offing some scummy b l a ck kid (Trayyy-Vonnnn)
in some trash neighborhood
.
but now, because the dead kids a kneegrow, we have:
the BIG BAD FBI on this important case
and
the usual BLACK-RADICAL-PROTESTERS who cant mind their own business!

Gated communities exist because people are afraid
.& negros thrive on crime
Look at our prisons.
Sure they play to these people knowingly but they don't want it OUT THERE like that.

(15,667 posts)In any event, this websites source material is gone. Is Fox experiencing technical difficulties, or do they simply recognize how toxic their users are? My guess is the former, but, it doesnt really matter much. The comments section, about a year ago, gained a huge influx of liberal-minded trolls. For every hang im from the highest tree comment, thered be another calling the commenter out as a KKK member. Foxs comments section essentially became self-regulated, and the FoxNewsComments.com well ran dry. Im as sad as I am grateful of it, because I did enjoy finding the most horrible (and horribly popular) comments, but at least theres one nest of hate thats been fumigated.
