It is not at midnight but the site that will be announced in a commercial at half-time during Monday Night Football.

More like tomorrow night following a new trailer during Monday Night Football. It's way too damn early to sell tickets.

I think it's insanely stupid to be buying tickets this far in advance. I'm not participating in this because I do not want to encourage more of that.

Concerts. Theatrical productions. All sorts of events sell tickets weeks or even months in advance. Selling tickets in advance makes it possible for people who can't spend days in line to be among those first to see the movie if that's what they want.

My wife, my kids, and I all live and breathe Star Wars. It's been a big deal to me since the first film came out when I was 7.

I buy Morrissey tickets months in advance for concerts that he usually bails on without qualms, so buying tickets for something like this seems perfectly natural.

If they really wanted to trigger a shit-storm they could do it on a different channel at some unspecified time during the game...

The ticket takers at the door will be so overwhelmed by the crowds that you won't need a ticket, you'll be able to just walk briskly into the theater.
