Angry driver shoots Georgia woman in the back because she was driving too slow

Georgia woman and her son were driving Monday afternoon when another driver pulled up very close behind her in the center lane.

The woman, 44-year-old Angelina Christiano, motioned for the Ford Mustang driver who had been tailing her to pull around her Corvette — but instead he pulled alongside her and opened fire, reported WSB-TV.

Christiano was shot in the upper back and lost control of her car on Stone Mountain Freeway in DeKalb County, but her 25-year-old son was not injured.

She was hospitalized and listed in serious to critical condition.

The gunman fled the area and remains at large.

Ever since we obtained the remote control to change channels, we have gotten much more impatience and fat by the way. We no longer had to get up to change the channel, and our attention span has dwindled along with our patience. This road rage is just a shame and it's going to get worse.

Nothing says she was "intentionally impeding others". Nothing says she was going slow compared to the suitable speed for the traffic and that lane. Just that the shooter was travelling too close behind her, in the center lane, she motioned for him to go around (which a normal driver would do on their own, without tailgating or needing a signal from the driver in front), and then, as he headed for the exit from the highway, he shot at her several times.

When the traffic is moving, it's like Le Mans -- You can be doing 75-80 and still "impede" traffic...

know she was going so slow that she was impeding others? I have read 3 different stories and not one of them said she was going slow. They did report that he pulled up behind and tailgated her and when passing her he shot her. This is a 3 lane highway, she was in one lane, leaving him 2 lanes to pass her. So she wasn't exactly "impeding" him.

So what kind of punishment is acceptable for getting behind a driver on the highway that is not going fast enough for me? Usually I put on my blinker and change lanes. Now that I know it is ok not to let someone off scott free, I want to know how I can get even with another driver, while I am going 70 - 80 MPH and they are going 65 - 70?

You don't know how fast this lady was going. No indication she was impeding anyone except the jerk who was tailgating her. Way to blame the victim though. You sound like a real nice person.

I like to pretend I know the difference too. It certainly allows us to feel more clever than we are, and trivialize someone else while we're at it. It's a win-win for the self-absorbed and the petulant... regardless of the rationalizations we habitually use to deny otherwise.

That particular stretch of road is a favorite for that stupid game 2 or 3 drivers decide to play where they pinball through traffic trying to one up each other plus pass everyone else at the same time. Extra points if you can ping pong through and get just barely ahead and then slow way down to block your drag race partner behind you.

Atlanta is bad for this - that stretch of road particularly. Barely missed being collateral damage in Atlanta more than once in the 42 years since my sister moved to Atlanta. Tell me a Corvette and a Mustang mixed it up and someone got shot my antenna goes up. You can bet it does for the cops as well.

Like I said, they find that Mustang driver god help um. They have a world of trouble on their heads.

It's a big stretch on my part, I agree. Can't help the "red flags".

I just know (and loathe) Atlanta driving. Like someone up thread said, it's like they think they are professional car racers and think they have to "win".

Hope they find the jackwagon that shot her and throw the book at them.
