WASHINGTON -- The Washington press corps loves a good whiff of scandal. And it doesn't matter if they know who the person is, or what they look like.
Witness: Rumors surfaced Wednesday night that Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.) was romantically involved with Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), and that could be at least part of the reason McCarthy backed away from running for speaker of the House. McCarthy denied this, and Ellmers reportedly has, as well, though she has declined to speak to the press.
So of course, the press went looking for her. And one reporter found ... Rep. Ann Wagner (R-Mo.). At least Wagner took it well when she was asked about emails linking her with McCarthy.

Oh, well, she didn't deny it, either.
Oh if only they could bring back Denny (The Coach) Hastert to bring dignity back to the office.
