County returns Lenn Park land surrounding Confederate monument back to donors (VA)

... Rev. Sanford Reaves, Jr., president of the Culpeper Branch NAACP, ... pleaded with the supervisors to remove the Confederate flag flying over Lenn Park on Stevensburg Road.
“As a young boy, I was told when I saw someone with a Confederate flag I was to move as fast as I could to get away from that,” shared Reaves. “If I go to a restaurant that flies a Confederate flag, I don’t feel welcome ... Some people may feel differently, but if you haven’t walked in our shoes, then you wouldn’t understand” ...
After the two speakers shared their thoughts, the supervisors voted 7-0 to return the 1,400-square-foot property where the Confederate flag stands back to the Lenn Brothers, who donated 84 acres for the park to the county in 2006 ...
