Small Government Conservatives? Not in Michigan!

So, here in Michigan the GOP always trots out the idea that Democrats are socialists, we want America to be another Europe, we are commies ect ect.

Yet, since the GOP has taken over here, they have proven to be just has much of big government "socialists" as the Democrats, yet the Tea Party blindly supports these guys. It's almost comical. The GOP legislature has approved medical coverage for children with autism (which I support), and they have approved a work-sharing program modeled off of Germany (which I support) those evil Euro trash lovers!

They also have the "soviet" thing down by having Snyder appoint "emergency managers' that have the power to literally become dictators of entire cities appointed by the State.

So if Democrats had done any of these things we would have never heard the end of red baiting...now not a peep. I guess in regards to the first two things I mentioned, I can be happy the GOP here isn't quite as bat shit as in some other states..

if Snyder was Romney's VP. I can't see any benefit to picking Snyder. I think Romney will go with a predictable, safe pick like Pawlenty.

The Snyder speculation was based on one Florida political consultant's opinion that Snyder would be the VP. A lot of names are thrown around during the VP selection process. In the end, I don't think Snyder will be picked. I doubt he even ends up on the short list.

They would lose both MA and MI. Besides the emergency manager law, Snyder could have been worse. There are many other GOP governors who scare me more. The only thing about Snyder that I don't just disagree with but which actually scares me is this emergency manager crap.

is worse than most of the other controversial GOP governors. He is enacting the same type of policies but does it in a less confrontational manner.
