Pope Francis expected to fire the Archbishop who tricked him into meeting Kim Davis

After Pope Francis wrapped up a successful goodwill tour of the United States, he saw his that goodwill largely undermined when it leaked out that he had met with Kentucky marriage license clerk Kim Davis, who is considered by many Americans to be enemy number one when it comes to gay rights. This prompted the Pope to put out a statement clarifying that while the meeting took place, he in no way endorsed her agenda. And now he’s expected to go a step further, removing the Archbishop who set up the meeting from power.

Francis and the Vatican also made clear that while he was in Washington DC, the only official one-on-one meeting he had was with a former student of his, Yayo Grassi, who is gay. Instead they maintain that the meeting with Davis was part of a receiving line and that she was essentially slipped in by Washington Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò. The New York Times says that he is now “likely to be removed at the first respectable opportunity.” So will this fix the Pope’s reputation or is the damage now done?

Not sure about this source, but I continue to believe it was an inside setup.

1. He needs to. A lot of good will was squandered when he met that sanctimonious twit

A very public repudiation of the whole thing will be needed, even though he likely agrees with Davis about those evil gays never getting married.

Vigano's publicity stunt has backfired, bigtime. He'll be recalled to the Vatican to spend his life in a sackcloth and ashes retirement, plotting for the day another Ratzinger comes to power.

3. Somehow I KNEW there was more to the story than the Pubs were saying.

Because of that, my respect for the pope hadn't dimmed at all. With the release of this info from the Vatican, I'm more convinced that absolutely NOTHING that the Pubs put out is ever true!

I'm trying to think back over the last 10-15 years to see if there was ANY story they promoted was really true. I can think of a few that had a few shreds of truth to them, but when the whole story was finally publicized, the real truth had little similarity to what they originally said.

Was Pope Francis Actually Swindled into Meeting Kim Davis?

First of all, let us stipulate that there are more than a few members of the Church's permanent bureaucracy, both within the Clan Of The Red Beanie and without, who are not happy that this gentleman got elected Pope, and who are not happy with what he's done and said since he was. Second, let us stipulate that many members of this group are loyal to both former pope Josef Ratzinger and, through him, to the memory (and to what they perceive as the legacy) of John Paul II who, for good and ill, had a much different idea of how to wield a papacy than Papa Francesco does. Third, let us stipulate that this opposition to the current pope has been active and vocal, to say nothing of paranoid. Finally, let us stipulate that, for over 2000 years, the Vatican has been a hotbed of intrigue, betrayal, and sanctified ratfcking on a very high scale. (It also has been a hotbed of, well, hot beds, but that's neither here nor there at the moment.) So, if you're one of these people, and you're looking to ratfck the pope's visit to the United States, and to his agenda in general, you'd be looking to put him in a box. So, how would you do that?

And there is nothing anyone can say that will make me believe the pope had no idea who she was. He is way too on the ball for that. No, someone has to fall on their sword for the sake of the pope's now rather tarnished image.

Looks like our savvy pope is discovering some dog whistles are less subtle than others.
