Fridays action was part of a Next Generation conference for members of the Communications Workers of America. About 50 young workers, most in their 20s, attended the four-day event at the Minneapolis Hilton. Many of them work for telecommunications companies like AT&T and Verizon.
We as the next generation really need to think about where we want to go, said Jake Lake, a member of CWA Local 1101 from New York City. Were at a tipping point right now.
The young workers said they are concerned about their futures and issues like the economy and home foreclosures. Those concerns took them to Wells Fargo to protest the banks refusal to meet with local groups fighting foreclosures and the banks funding of the Right Wing political agenda.
