Okay, so if the fundraising is the determiner of

who will win the Democratic nomination, let's try this:

Everyone who wants to run for President raises money. PACs, individual donations, whatever. The top two fundraisers each party gets the nomination. Then they start fundraising again, and whoever raises the most by election day is our new President.

No ads. But candidates go out and hold rallies, meet with supporters, donors, whatever. Collect endorsements.

And all the money raised goes to underwrite things like public education, building homes for the homeless, food for those who need it, various other worthy causes I'm simply not thinking of at the moment.
