Man Charged With Making Terroristic Threats In Plot To Overtake WV Capitol

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – A Wood County man is accused of planning to overthrow the state government and is behind bars, but police said he’s just a part of a larger organization that’s still active across the country.

Thomas Deegan was arrested Tuesday on terroristic threat charges. He is a self-purported member of the Sovereign Citizen’s Movement, which is on the FBI’s domestic terrorist watch list.

In a June Youtube video, Deegan said he is an ex-patriot.

"I have expatriated. I have expatriated from the entire corporate structure of the earth, and I'd do it again,” Deegan said. .................
