Conservatives roar as Rubio tells a crowd of Boehner's demiseBy KATIE GLUECK and DANIEL STRAUSS 09/25/15 10:25 AM EDT Updated 09/25/15 12:50 PM EDT
Conservatives at the Values Voter Summit cheered the coming end of House Speaker John Boehners reign, taking credit for the downfall of a man reviled by the right as too liberal to lead.
"Yesterday, John Boehner was Speaker of the House. Y'all come to town, and somehow that changes!" shouted Sen. Ted Cruz, one of the most far-right Republicans in Congress and a regular irritant to leadership. My only request is, can you come more often?"
Cruz wasnt the only one winning applause by heralding Boehners exit. Marco Rubio cut into his prepared remarks to break the news of Boehners plan to resign, and the crowd roared.

You really think these radical teahaddists are going to let any kind of moderate republican(oxymoron) take the Speakers chair?
No way.

The American Taliban terrorist organization, aka Teaparty, has some real death and destruction in store for non white Americans and now male Americans and non fake Christian Americans.

(5,624 posts)necessary to govern. If they go with a hardliner, all they can do is shutdown the gov't. They don't have the votes in the senate to do anything as evidenced by the 50+ Obamacare votes and the recent PP vote.
And Obama's called their bluff on shutdowns several times already.

(111,318 posts)right out in public. Boehner is leaving a power vacuum and they all think they're the only ones who can fill it. The carnage is likely to be extreme. All the squabbling that Boehner has managed to keep under the surface will explode outward for all to see.
What effect that will have on the electorate, if any, is something we'll have to wait to see.
