Occupy Chicago has supposedly posted pics of the undercover ops who lured these out-of-towners and the chief of police is fit to be tied!

(34,845 posts)If you look at the court documents linked to in the story, you'll see that the evidence is pretty extensive. That does not mean, of course, that they are guilty. But a bail judge and a prosecutor all thought the evidence was enough so I'm okay with this so far.

(36,418 posts)And, what is the so-called "mortar gun" referenced in the charging doc?
They didn't even light a wick, much less toss a bottle. The defendants also seem to have been acting under the influence of an agent provocateur, and it's unclear if making molotovs was even their idea.
That having been said, these three are morons and I'm glad they're not on the streets. But, the investigative methods and terrorism charges seem disproportionate.

(10 posts)Honestly, people like you scare me. These young men are being held in isolation and their bonds are $1.5 MILLION!!!!
They were suppposedly gonna target Rahm's house and Obama's campaign headquarters. Gee, it wouldn't be to give them SYMPATHY at a time when both locales were occupied last weekend, now would it?

(36,418 posts)And come back and tell me those were the acts and words of intelligent people. Even if you discount 50% of the allegations as prosecutorial hyperbole (and the result of the prodding toward illegal activities by a persistent and imaginative federal agent provocateur), they're morons.
