2. It's not just the crappy candidates, its the idiots running the debates as well

"What woman should be on the $10 bill?"

"If you are elected president, what should your secret service code name be/"

These "debates" are supposed to help us select the leader of the free fucking world, an individual with the power to drop a nuclear bomb on some country and kill millions of people. And we're supposed to do that on the basis of their answers to questions like those?

I no longer have an operable satellite dish, so there's no chance for me to be exposed to crap like that, but it still bothers me that our country treats elections like we used to for 7th grade class president.

3. The Problem Is That The Media Is So Terrible Any More.

The social media and our internet is the only real hope that things get covered. And the media gets worse every day. Everyone is trying to imitate FOX noise. I cringe at every newscast.

4. Republicans need to rise up and demand decent candidates, but I suspect most of

them aren't appalled at all. I know some Republicans who are disgusted, but frankly, any decent Republican was run out of the party long ago. There's nothing left but wingers and religious nuts. Many years ago, there were various essays warning the Republican Party to be very wary of the religious contingent because they would take over the party if they were treated as if they had anything relevant to discuss. And so it has happened.

And don't get me started on how awful the media and the debate structure is. Horrendous. Worse than a game show. They should all be ashamed of themselves.
