Maker Shed, the popular web site for the DIY builder community, stands with Ahmed! They've invited him to be a special guest at World Maker Faire, and -- in the true spirit of the Maker tribe -- they've posted an article showing how Ahmed built his clock. How cool is that?
The Maker Shed folks are also promoting 12 of their DIY clock kits in solidarity with the young Texas builder. Yes, Maker Shed is a commercial web site, these kits are for sale, and Maker Shed pockets the proceeds. But it's great that this hub of the builder/maker community is expressing solidarity with Ahmed Mohamed and celebrating his creative energy. Hats off to Maker Shed!

Maker Shed's sister site for Make Magazine also posted this article Wednesday morning. Glad to see their support for Ahmed!

(12,164 posts)Cool idea.
According to this CNN article, there are several crowdfunding campaigns to raise money in support of Ahmed Mohamed -- for example, this LaunchGood campaign. (There are more, but I can't vouch for their authenticity.)
And quite a few sites are selling T-shirts and other merchandise in support of the young man, but I don't know how many are donating the proceeds to him or non-profit organizations.
As always, I advise using your research skills and best judgement when sending money in support of a worthy cause.

I have yet to find an arrest of any of these, none until a teacher decided there was threat in having one of these held 12 year old brown skin kid with Muslims in his family.
That group of fucking cowards, fearful little souls that they are, have no idea how wide their impact will be, beyond their bullying of the kid.
They aren't worth keeping around.
