Didn't we just have the anniversary of Jeb Bush's brother keeping us safe?

Jeb Bush Gets Huge Applause After Saying His Brother 'Kept Us Safe'
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush earned huge applause from the audience on Wednesday night during the GOP presidential debate after saying that his brother "kept us safe" while in office.

Jeb Bush says his brother "kept us safe." He's wrong.

But it's not true.

For one thing: The vast majority of people killed on American soil by terrorists throughout the entirety of American history were killed during George W. Bush's administration. It's not even close. And this was followed up by the deaths of an even larger number of Americans during Bush's invasion of Iraq.

It would be a bit of a stretch to say that the thousands of innocent Americans killed on 9/11 were Bush's fault, but it's certainly not to his credit that it happened during his administration, and it's mind-boggling that the Bush family thinks it deserves special credit for its success in keeping the country safe from terrorism when no other administration has presiding over an attack nearly that devastating.

Worst president ever. Can't see why we'd want to go back.

Jeb, yeah -- he kept us safe for 7 years AFTER we were attacked!! But I even liked Christie's saying about how we all cringed soon after that when every plane would fly above us. I really don't think Christie cringes now but he won't admit it.

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS

They sure don't like to be reminded that GWB was POTUS when it happened and, more importantly, had some advance warning. My jaw always drops whenever Republicans insist that George W. Bush "kept us safe" and then proceed to attack Democrats for being weak on security. It's like 9/11 doesn't count for them- except for when it did when attacking Democrats politically, getting their junk through Congress, and, of course, getting their war on in Iraq. And then, over a decade later, investigate the hell out of a terrorist attack in Libya that killed 4 American diplomats during a Democratic Presidency.

So, let's compare the scorecard on "keeping America safe":

George W. Bush: 9/11 (3K American civilians killed in terrorist attack that he had some inkling of)
Iraq (4K American troops killed in a war of choice)
Hurricane Katrina (? American civilians killed due to neglect/incompetence)
Terrorist attacks at diplomatic missions (+/-60)

Total #Deaths=7K+

Barack Obama: Benghazi (4 American Diplomats killed in terrorist attack)

Total# Deaths=4
