The modern Democratic Party enables the modern Republican Party to be a party of extremists.

Because the Democratic Party is a "big tent" party, i.e. conservadems and or blue dogs are included, it leaves open the Republican Party as a haven for right wing screwballs.

Because our gov't only allows for a two party system we are stuck with a future that will see the sane majority always being held hostage by an insane minority.

Until the grip of unlimited corporate cash is removed from the body politic, democratic rule by the people is dead in America.

'Our gov't' allows for any number of parties; parties are not mentioned in the Constitution. History made it what it is, but it CAN change.

Our VOTERS have chosen the Parties they want to represent them. Today that's the Democrats and Republicans. In the Past its been the Populists, Whigs, No-Names, etc. The voters have plenty of choices; they choose not to vote for the minor ones.
