Plot thickens on the making randy in the park Minnesota Lawmakers

http://www.twincities.com/politics/ci_28809668/lawmakers-accused-making-out-park-apologize-calling-ranger

Now Kelly and Mack are "sorry for the way we handled it" but they still don't quite apologize for calling a park ranger a liar for writing in his report that the two were "making out" and Mack's pants were "unzipped and pulled down."

Both are still very much in spin mode here. If they think this settles it they are in for a disappointment.

On Monday, Mack and Kelly, who have declined interviews with the Pioneer Press for two weeks, said they handled the situation badly.

"I understand that the park ranger was trying to do his job," said Mack. "I have the utmost respect for the work law enforcement does to keep Minnesotans safe, and I apologize for offending these great men and women."

Kelly said he was "disappointed" in his response but did not directly say he was sorry to the ranger for calling his statement "an absolute lie."

"I reacted to this in an emotional way and certainly without respect and professionalism," Kelly said.

"There is a proper way to handle conflicts, and as a state representative you should certainly expect me to do so. I apologize to my constituents, to the law enforcement community and to the state of Minnesota."
