Rising Health Care Costs
It's time to put it out there plainly.
We do not benefit from R&D costs, because virtually NONE of the main manufacturers of drugs are doing research aside from patenting drugs that are the same as the one that fell off the brand and then could be available as generic, with a slightly different molecular profile.
The United States "health care" system is the prime delimiter of even thinking of being successful in this country.
Hospital Administrators don't want economic prosperity, because then Doctors, Nurses, and all involved from the production to the endpoint - patient care - will get more of the pie.
Name a human being that did not care about profits, yet produced life saving results.
Oh. Jonas Salk.
I could list a number of people that will develop science because they want to genuinely make the world either a healthier place, a more interesting place, or a safer place.
Our healthcare system is to the point where costs are not only ridiculous, they are crippling.
