The women on the view made fun of the nurse

who was a contestant in the Miss America contest and appeared in her uniform to talk about her work with Alzheimer's patients as her talent.

Since then the shit has hit the fan!!
Stay tuned tomorrow as possibly there might be some empty seats on the show.

because they're smart women who've survived both the humanities and some tough sciences.

They'll tell you what you said that was wrong, too.

Joy Behar asked why was she wearing a doctor's stethoscope which prompted the Littman company to respond with a very funny and snarky comment saying that all these years they had made the same stethoscopes for docs and nurses and didn't realize that they should have taken out the guts and put glitter on the ones for the nurses.

I had some wonderful nurses who cared for me when I was in the hospital last fall. My Mom's best "doctor" was a Nurse Practitioner.

I am proud of him - he studied hard, he works hard . . . and he gets involved with his patients

and he married a nurse

It's been decades since I've watched it.

Regardless that has mean spirited and just plain rude to the nurse, she deserves a lot better.

Not cool. I heard her monologue, but did not watch the rest of the pageant. I don't like those sorts of shows. My husband was watching it.

If they are making fun of nurses who take care of Alzheimer's patients, they need to apologize.

I've had a lot of nurses, and I loved them all. And one nurse literally saved my life.

I LOVE nurses!

I think a cohost on the view is probably at the top of the list.

But I do have to agree with the view im some ways, she might be a damn fine nurse, but I dont see how that qualifys as a talent for a talent show.

because she presented her vocation as a talent, and wore her uniform instead of a sparkly leotard. Lots of YouTube clips.

However, I didn't see it but my hubby did and he disagreed that they were dissing her alone; he thought they were making fun of beauty contests in general.

Btw, I am a nurse coming on 40 years. I certainly would never win a beauty contest these days, but I say good for the nurse who did that. It is a vocation, a job, but believe me, it takes plenty of talent to juggle the daily in and out challenges of both hospital and home care nursing.

She was one of the top critical care nurses in the country, recognized by state and national nursing associations.

From her I really gained an appreciation for the rigorous training they go through and the professionalism required in their job. There is a hell of a lot more to nursing than the patient sees.

If you're ever in the hospital, you want the nurses on your side. They are overworked, treated badly by doctors and your only help should you need it and frequently the only conduit to what is going on with your case.
