I finally got her last name - she's the CNN reporter in Syria, Turkey, Hungary, Austria, everywhere and anywhere - near battle lines, leading children, keeping refugees and their children company as well as reporting on the situations, reporting on progress against ISIS, etc...
She looks like a small (but not frail) woman, pretty face, no makeup, left her good clothes at home, apparently. She is outstanding and I grow more fond of her with every report - which are sometimes hard to hear because she doesn't get any private place to report, just in the middle of a bunch of people all the time, and they pay scarcely any attention to her...
She shows pity, disgust, sadness, and a bit of outrage with the poor treatment people there are getting, and I get tears in my eyes almost every time she does a report.
She should get an award of some kind of award. She's pretty young, maybe be our next Secretary of State if she's American or something...

(10,044 posts)She does deserve a journalist award... And she does have diplomatic skills with being able to talk to people and officials in so many countries...
So many of the places where she's reported are very dangerous, bombs falling etc... ISIS not far away...
Are you at all familiar with her?
I don't watch CNN.

And if you look at the beginning of the Wikipedia article she's had a pretty exceptional life.

(10,044 posts)although I didn't pay much attention to her until they were trying to get part of Iraq back - and she complains when more air power is needed, etc. She's right up front where a stray bullet can get her very easily..
She's very young to have had an "exceptional life," as you put it.
And here I thought I was the only one who noticed and admired her...
All of you surprise me with your knowledge of her.
