A question about Kim Davis and contempt

I'm just curious about how contempt works. So now that Kim Davis is in jail, does the court occasionally check up on her and ask if she has changed her mind about either issuing marriage licenses or resigning? Or does the court system just ignore her now? Also, if she changes her tune, how does she communicate that? Does she just hand a note to a jail guard indicating she's had enough and requesting a hearing with with either her lawyer and/or Judge Bunning? If she doesn't change her tune and ends up getting impeached or getting replaced in the next election, do the courts automatically release her or does she have to petition the courts for release?

This was a preliminary order in a lawsuit which remains pending. It is not some terminal point in the proceeding.

Any time she wants out; which will not occur, so this is purely hypothetical; the simplest thing would simply to be to file a motion with the court to the effect she has agreed or resigned, and she will be ordered to be released.

The turnaround time could be minutes to hours on that.

The judge might want to hold a short hearing on what her specific intentions are.

But, in any event, the lawsuit continues to roll on.

You have been very helpful in educating DU on such legal matters. Do not think it has not been appreciated. (Sorry for the double negative. )
