The US dentist who sparked an international outcry after killing a lion in Zimbabwe has said he did nothing wrong and is planning to return to work this week....

He says he intends to return to work because "my staff and my patients support me and they want me back".

However, he denied that he had been forced into hiding for his own safety.

Zimbabwe never filed charges and did not request extradition. Their Environmental Minister talked about it but there has been nothing since then.

The government there and many officials line their pockets with the millions of dollars and euros these permits and hunts bring into the country. Does anyone really think they want to discourage rich hunters from coming there by making a big event of having him extradited and put on trial?

Most of the time in these cases the local guide is the one responsible for the permits and hunt. The foreign visitor rarely gets prosecuted because their system places it all on the local guide. The guide did get charged and arrested as I understand it.

It's clearly a parody/troll account. It wasn't started until this whole mess broke out and cleverly did things like link you Yelp for people to leave "good" reviews and then it got progressively more outrageous.

Just look at the volume of tweets the first weeks after it started- it's clearly a troll account.

There is enough reason to despise him without making a fool of yourself sharing a fake Twitter account as if it's legit.

He easily strikes me as one of those dentists who points to a couple of light gray spots on your x-ray, explains why you need half a mouthful of implants, then sends in some toadie to tell you about their easy financing options. How else does he afford all his cowardly canned big game hunts? Those things aren't cheap.

And with a reduced clientele, he's going to have to screw his remaining patients over even worse. Sucks to be them.
