Booker's crime wasn't defending Private Capital, it was perpetuating the 'both sides' myth.

Let's be clear. Booker's biggest crime wasn't sticking a knife Obama's back, defending private capital, or giving the Romney Campaign a sound byte for their commercials. The most destructive thing he did was to give credence to the 'both sides' false equivalence bullshit. The GOP-spun myth that 'both sides' are equally to blame for partisan gridlock, and 'both sides' are equally sleazy in their methods of attack.

The Rev. Wright smear is designed to invoke racism, xenophobia and nativism by linking Obama to a guy that a) Obama has already RENOUNCED and b) was only loosely associated with in the first place. Ditto for Bill Ayres.

The Bain Capital story is designed to turn working class people away from Mitt Romney by POINTING OUT WHAT HE ACTUALLY DID to American companies and American workers...their salaries, their pensions, their middle class lifestyle, their hopes and dreams...

How is that EQUIVALENT Mayor Booker?

Obama was just lining up at the starting post for the Presidential race, and along comes his teammate Cory Booker, who proceeds to shoot him in the kneecap on behalf of Romney and Bain Capital.

Just a sorry, sad beginning-of-the-end to Booker's political career, IMO.

snotty teacher came up and said "I don't care WHO started it, you're both in detention," and I don't like it as an adult when the MSM says "both sides are to blame for the partisan gridlock." We have to call them on that bullshit FIRST. The myth that both sides are equally to blame for this mess is one of the most destructive lies out there.

them both is unjust. As an adult I can understand why they did it, but it would have felt fairer if the teacher had just said, "It's impossible for me to determine who started it, so you'll both have to go to detention."

Romney is running on his record at Bain. It's incredibly stupid to claim Obama can't talk about Romney's central reason that people should vote for him.

But Booker's only in office thanks to the financial industry, so I'm guessing they called in a favor.

His mistake/error or perhaps willful intent was the issue of saying "both sides" AND casting the attacks on Bain as attacks against Private Equity firms which it wasn't.
