Scott Walker, in elected office since age 25, says he's not a career politician

No, it's not a fake headline from The Onion.

Gov. Scott Walker denies he’s a career politician — even though he has been in elected office since he was 25 years old and first ran for office when he was 22.

The 47-year-old Republican presidential contender said in an interview with CNBC, released Tuesday, that he is “just a normal guy” and rejects the career politician label despite being in politics for most of his adult life.....

....Walker said in a Fox News interview on Tuesday that he understands the attraction outsider candidates can have — because he is one.

It can be argued that Walker has been a career politician since the age of 18, when he enrolled at Marquette University and immediately ran for student government. Walker eventually ran for president of student government and was accused of illegal campaign practices. The student newspaper went so far as to call Walker “unfit for presidency”. After losing that race, Walker dropped out of college to run for the Wisconsin Assembly and hasn't looked back. He's a career politician.
