brilliant move. It not only demonstrates the merits of the deal, but just how bad the current crop of republicans are

(24,853 posts)But go to bat on the world stage to support them being built in Iran.
Have you seen the list of earthquakes in Iran since the turn of the century? My goodness one quake alone killed over 30,000 people.
Perplexing.

(3,518 posts)But seriously, Lugar is the one and only republican to ever earn my vote.
Just once, right after he stood up to Loony Reagan over the Philippine election.

(27,315 posts)We have to listen to Trump for hours, but MSNBC cannot be bothered showing this speech in its entirety, and all that to have a pundit speak and a move on a manhunt where nothing new has happened.

(59,504 posts)If they can play hour after hour of Trump nonsense - and very little he says is other than nonsense - they could have covered the entire thing here. Even in 2004, none of the news outlet actually covered long segments of Kerry's speeches. Little wonder that - even on DU and DKOS - we had to defend Kerry in 2007 when he and Teresa wrote a book on the environment against people saying he NEVER spoke of that in 2004. He actually did in every single stump speech and had the best lifetime score from League of Conservation voters.
It is really eye opening that Lugar is not just in favor, but very very much in favor of the deal. Hard to believe that 10 years ago, most of the Republicans in the Senate would follow him on a foreign policy issue -- and now zero are in favor.

(53,339 posts)I never met Kerry, even when I worked a Kerry event, but I did meet Paul Newman when he dropped by our field office in Columbus. Plus Kerry's sister and some TV actors who came by.

(1,825 posts)...for a Republican.
He was surely among the best of the Republicans with regards to foreign policy. (Of course, he likely did stupid things too since he is a Republican, like support Chimpy's War based on Lies, etc.)

(32 posts)All we did was say the carrot is no more stick.
Sanctions were directly related to Iran's potential nuke weapons program.
Republicans like to think the stick is still a viable option.
Sorry, clown warmongers, passing this, or tacit approval by disallowing a no vote, is the only way the stick comes back.
And that would only be by way of a recognition by the world community that Iran has violated an agreement that all relevant nations have agreed on.
And for future reference, what I do when MSNBC cuts out on something like this, I immediately turn to CSPAN and see if they carry it, and on this one they did.
There are times i just have to say MSNBC, blow me.
