Any time President Obama is taking questions and talking about Bain we are winning.

(540 posts)things more difficult for Obama. Thing is, Obama by his comments today, shows that he is ready to rise to the challenge.

(540 posts)this news conference was supposed to be about NATO, yet the reporter asked a political question. Obama did handle it well. Romney is running almost solely upon his Bain experience, so it is fair to address that in campaign advertising.

(111,110 posts)..as some were calling it. But it was a legitimate part of the debate for the Presidency. He went on to explain that the job of the President calls for more than just making profits for investors. He has to worry about the workers also. Of course, he gave a more thorough explanation but that's the gist of it.

(111,110 posts)You do know about Corey Booker being on MTP yesterday? His comments started the whole mess. He sort of stabbed Obama in the back by defending Bain Capital.

(15,950 posts)Contributions to his 2002 campaign from venture capitalists, investors, and big Wall Street bankers brought him more than $115,000 for his 2002 campaign. Among those contributing to his campaign were John Connaughton ($2,000), Steve Pagliuca ($2,200), Jonathan Lavine ($1,000) all of Bain Capital. While the forms are not totally clear, it appears the campaign raised less than $800,000 total, making this a significant percentage.
He and his slate also jointly raised funds for the Booker Team for Newark joint committee. They received more than $450,000 for the 2002 campaign from the sector including a pair of $15,400 contributions from Bain Capital Managing Directors Joshua Bekenstein and Mark Nunnelly. It appears that for the initial campaign and runoff, the slate raised less than $4 million again making this a sizable chunk.
In all just in his first Mayoral run Bookers committees received more than $565,000 from the people he was defending. At least $36,000 of that came from folks at Romneys old firm.
That is where to search for Booker's short circuit- or short sightedness.
