Who do you think should give it if different from the person you think will give it if Jimmy Carter someday dies?

(65,616 posts)Your OP makes no sense and the sentence in the content area is without any indication as to what 'different' means.

(65,616 posts)maybe try harder next time? Why would you post such a fucked up thing anyway?

(31,823 posts)Redford played California Democratic senate hopeful Bill McKay in the 1972 film "The Candidate," which won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
"I was probably president because of Bob Redford," said Mr. Carter, who confided that before the debate leading to his 1976 election he "didn't know what in the world I was going to do."
Redford told him what not to do. He arrived at Mr. Carter's house with a projector and films of the historic debate that made Richard Nixon look dour and John F. Kennedy charismatic.
Redford "played the tape over and over and gave me advice," the former president said Saturday at Redford's Sundance resort as part of an author's series.
Redford embraced President Carter before taking the podium to praise his old friend at his Sundance ski resort, nature preserve and corporate retreat in Utah's Wasatch Mountains.
I think Robert Redford should give it. Just because as serious as they BOTH were - and as much of the real deal Jimmy Carter is?
He should be sent out by another real deal who believed in him!

(65,616 posts)So I expect this horrible OP to stand, no doubt the OP is giddy now from all the people he/she pissed off.

(14,498 posts)... you might want to start this one from scratch.
No?
Capt. Obvious
(9,002 posts)I won't.
I've gotten one actual response and it was a good one.
I did edit to indicate that he's not dead yet (that wasn't my intention to scare people) and edited the follow up question for the weird misreading of what the question meant.

(10,201 posts)Your OP is lacking in tact, is rude, offensive, and frankly quite shitty. He is a man of extreme character, untiring devotion to his convictions, and a man to be admired. His selfless service not only to the this country, but to the citizens of the world is an inspiration to us all... Yet, your post speaks of this great, and still living man in the past tense. Fuck that!
Capt. Obvious
(9,002 posts)Glassunion
(10,201 posts)A eulogy for someone who is still fucking alive? Who is a hero to many folks here?
He was one of the greatest presidents this country has ever seen. I'd put him in second behind Lincoln. Yet you're more worried about a eulogy for someone who isn't fucking dead.
Your posts in this thread are disgusting, and completely tactless.
Capt. Obvious
(9,002 posts)The man has come to terms with what he faces quite gracefully.
This is not a matter of if but when.
Glassunion
(10,201 posts)Your OP lacks any shred of class or tact. It is a rude and offensive pile. Especially in its original form. The fact that you can't see that, speaks volumes about your character.
Rex
(65,616 posts)And pretending people 'freaked out' at the original wording really says it all imo.

(65,616 posts)I can't believe the OP, unedited, was allowed to stand. Now they are pretending they didn't know what they typed. Sad to see, thought the OP had some kind of integrity. Shows what I know.
Capt. Obvious
(9,002 posts)But some people lost their minds over the original wording so I did them a solid.

(7,596 posts)Unless Jimmy Carter is secretly a god, he'll die someday just like everyone else on Earth does.
Whatever the case, the man is still here now so talking about this just seems morbid. I'm sure he's long planned the details of his funeral even before he got sick. I once read somewhere that he and Gerald Ford made an agreement to speak at the other's funeral for whichever of them passed away first. This sort of speculation just seems icky.
