Swedish Teen Model Blasts the Fashion Industry for Labeling Her 'Too Big

http://www.people.com/article/swedish-model-Agnes-Hedengard-too-big-for-industry

A 19-year-old model from Sweden is using YouTube to take a stand against the fashion industry that she says has labeled her "too big" for the runway.

In a video shared earlier this week, Agnes Hedengard wore only a bikini as she posed in front of a mirror and explained why she struggles to find work despite her seemingly good looks.

"I have worked as a model for about five years now, but up to this day I don't get any more jobs since the industry thinks I'm too big," she said. "They think this is too big."

Hedengard, who said she is 5'11" with a body mass index of 17.5 (which would technically put her in the "underweight" category, according to the National Institutes of Health), pointed to her body parts as she told viewers, "They think my butt is too big and they think my hips are too wide."

She's trying to find work as a model and everyone keeps telling her she's too heavy.

By this point, she's probably developed horrible nutrition habits. She does not look healthy.

What an awful industry.

that's what they should do. Just roll some hangers down the runway.

When I was 19 I was boxing and had to lose weight to get to welterweight, even at 5' 7". Yet at 5% bodyfat, I was too short to be a model.

The deal with models is they are modeling a garment made for an anonymous model. Fittings are minimal. Easier to change the model than change the clothes.

Every thin person is kinda the same, but especially with women if you are not a rail then fitting in generic clothes is hard. Some women gain weight in their bust, some butt, arms etc. Damn crapshoot that is utterly genetics. A friend of mine in college got her freshman 15 all in her boobs. It gave her a herniated disc.

Not all jobs are for all people.

They like 14 year old girls that are literally half starved. They look ill, don't be like them. Also, I hope she learns from this how stupid the industry is and how it makes women hate themselves.
