Um, wtf Stephen? I just learned that Yeb will be among the first guests on Colbert's new debut.

Ever since he announced plans to abandon his satiric persona for his new late-night gig on CBS, the big question has been what “the real Stephen Colbert” will be like.

Far less attention has been paid to how the comedian's idiosyncratic, bookish taste in guests might translate to the mainstream landscape of broadcast television. But on that front, at least, some clues are beginning to emerge.

The guest list for the “Late Show's” first week was released Monday, and it goes beyond the usual assortment of A-list movie stars and musicians.

Stephen Colbert took over "Only in Monroe" and interviewed guest Eminem.

Naturally, there are big names: Colbert's debut episode on Sept. 8 will feature actor-director George Clooney and GOP presidential hopeful Jeb Bush. Other premiere-week guests include actress Scarlett Johansson, hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar, comedian Amy Schumer and country star Toby Keith.

I will definitely be watching the first show, but depending how Stephen handles Yeb (John Ellis Bush Bush) and Toby Keith I may never watch again.

When I do watch Real Time, I skip that middle noise. I tune in for his monologue and New Rules. nt Electric Monk Aug 2015 #8

he's an extremely topical person... I know I'm not interested in any type of talk show that only allows left-minded guests...How boring. Can you imagine Bill Maher's show without the Republicans who go on? (often repeatedly I should add, kudos to them)

I agree with you though. Depending on how he handles these guests will determine if it will be must see TV for me or only when someone interesting is on. If it turns into a Leno type affair I'll never watch. I can't imagine that happening though.

like "dey cawww me Veto Corleone" and we can also learn about the "Asian people" who are anchor babies. He couldn't even say "Chinese nationals," if he was referring to birth tourism that rich Chinese supposedly do.
