In The End Fundamentalist Churches Only Want Religious Schools To Exist.

In the end the fundamentalist goal is to have only religious schools or private schools where religion is a key part of the curriculum. Christian style madrases are their ideal. The attack on public education is more religious oriented than anything. Corporate privatizers are more than willing to ally themselves with these groups so that they can profit off the huge amount of tax money.

School vouchers and choice are just smoke screens to mask the real intentions regarding public education. In the end teachers and student lose. Profitability and ideology will drain money from education. Teachers end up paid less and benefits are reduced to enhance profits. And students lose because teaching tools are much less funded. In the end the profits per student trump educating.

They have attacked public schools for years because they are paid for with taxes. In recent years they have figured out how much money can be made via "charter schools" and vouchers. Of course it is couched in terms of reform and choice and religious freedom, but it's really about cold hard cash. Naturally the churches fall in line because they get on the gravy train too. Of course the religious masses can be easily convinced to support it because they have made religion the pivotal aspect of their lives. They feel righteous while the money piles up around their leaders.
