CNN: Does the RNC have a secret anti-Trump war room? Undoubtedly.Meanwhile, Trump is out there giving interviews like this:
Donald Trump: "Hedge Fund Guys Didn't Build This Country," They're "Getting Away With Murder"
Next to Jeb Bush, Donald Trump sounds positively sane on foreign policy
That pretty much describes ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The Establishment is NOT HAPPY with this turn of events for Their Candidate, Mr. Bush III.
While no one was paying attention:
Florida quietly sets up an epic 2016 primary clash, May 18, 2015
Thats when Florida holds its primary contest which will now be winner-take-all.
The states Republican Party quietly approved the new delegate allocation rules Saturday night, while the political worlds attention was focused on Iowa and the 11 Republican presidential hopefuls stumping there.
But the Florida decision, another attempt by the state GOP to boost
(Strikethrough text added, because it is the real reason for the GOP's new "rules".)
How Florida's Later, Winner-Take-All Primary Is Both Risky and Rewarding for Jeb Bush, March 31, 2015
.....
Bush's allies helped push the measure through the state legislature; one representative even emailed Bush back in January about the effort. Florida Republican Party Chairman Blaise Ingoglia, who is also a member of the state House, said he was not in contact with Bush, Rubio, or any members of their teams as the bill moved through the legislature.
NOTE: Jeb Bush no longer has that huge lead in Florida, his 'home' state. He lost it in June to Donald J. Trump.
Trump now leads Jeb Bush in Florida by 21% to 17%, and climbing.
And another little Bush flunkie piped up about the new 'Winner Take All' Florida strategy:
Yeah, Mr. Weatherford. Candidates are "lasting longer" because of the multiple SuperPACs keeping all of these 'snowball chance in hell of winning' candidates in the race until March. These 14-15 candidates are being propped up and used to divide the field so that Bush can win with very low vote percentages, say, around 19 or 20%.
Hey, aren't all those SuperPACs and billionaires grand?!!
The SuperPACs exist to prop up all of these candidates as long as The Establishment needs them to do so, and to show us, the little people, that The Establishment folks DON'T NEED THE VOTERS to shoehorn their anointed candidate into the lead.
The SuperPACs RULE, folks. They are choosing the candidates for us, and we the people are officially irrelevant in the process of choosing our country's leaders.
Remember, Jeb Bush does have experience at shoplifiting presidential victories at the last minute.
Donald Trump knows how to engage an audience.
I hope Mr. Trump will shine a spotlight onto the corrosive effect of these SuperPACs that have been unleashed by Citizens United, and how they are wielding the power of their millions/billions of dollars to rob our democratic process from us.
This country needs to hear it. (And also about Jeb Bush's role at Lehman Brothers.)

(14,733 posts)based on rules that were set up to make things easier for Bush to win.
But it does make me wonder if similar shenanigans have been going on with rules on the Democratic side of things, or if they just are assuming 'inevitability' will win out.

(52,162 posts)they are forbidden. States have been known to game the times of their primaries to help candidates and to gain influence. Michigan and Florida did so in both 2004 and 2008 (to gain influence not try to help candidates).

(854 posts)and about lost my damn mind. I'll bet both statements are equally accurate, though.

(39,343 posts)Being told you're the preseason favorite is one thing, but performing at game time is why they play the game. Months ago, we were told this was going to be Bush v Clinton part deux, but both of them are learning that you've got to show up to claim the throne.
Trump is starting to run away with things and absent a severe catastrophe on his part, he might skate into it, to the dismay of the GOP.
