RTL & GOP Determined To Force Women To Carry Severely Deformed Babies & Bear The Cost.
The latest aggressive campaign against abortion is to prohibit women from terminating problem pregnancies where child is severely deformed. Push on now to force women to bear children with Down's Syndrome and worse. So under the GOP plan if you are faced with a child who even has virtually no brain or is so terribly deformed that they will have no quality of life after birth you will have to have that child and bear the expense of caring for that child.
We have some friends who lost a severely deformed child just before the age of 18. After 18 years of age they would have lost ALL Medicaid support for the child and would have had to hire medical staff themselves to care for the kid. During the nearly 18 years they were faced with 24/7 care of this child who was 90% non functional. That meant numerous visits from nurse aides every day. And they had to be on call 24 hours a day for 17+ years. The wife's health was marginal as well. And the husband worked full time. And there were other normal children in the home. After 18 they had no way to financially take care of their son. They would have lost everything due to bankruptcy.
The RTL & GOP now want to force women to complete ALL pregnancies regardless of the condition of the fetus. A there are pregnancies where a child will live only a few days or years with no quality of life and at tremendous cost to the parents.
