(1,884 posts)And we don't pay enough attention to what their stand is on anything. Again at the local level, we just vote on name recognition. Like rooting for a sports team, being on the winning side is more important than voting for someone that comes closest to our values.
Our problem is that all too often we agree with them, instead of making them agree with us.

(82,383 posts)every person running for Senate, House, Governor, state and local races.
too many people put it all on the Presidency and then claim disappointment when the POTUS turns out to have to have a bill passed by Congress. Always looking for the messiah with the bully pulpit who can convince everyone when time and time again it is proven no human can do that.
And that's right, they get their start there. Where were these progressives when Ted Cruz got into the Senate, just for starters? When Marco Rubio got elected to the Florida House of Representatives. More important, what are they doing to get "real progressives" into their State Houses or Congress? Nothing, just mooning over Bernie Sanders who is apparently not going to have to deal with Congress and can change it all himself with a magic want.

(6,926 posts)There would be no election activity...no announcement, no ads, no debates, no mention until 6 months before election day.
Did I mention no ability to donate or collect donations? Because that should be included.
I guess it goes without saying that Citizens United is abolished. I have not decided about a top limit on donations....any suggestions???

(10,271 posts)That way, anyone who knows what they're doing can download a copy, run simulations/check for errors/malignant lines of code etc and report what they find. Only those with proper public authority allowed to make changes to code used on election day, but allow live-streaming of all code processes ON election day , so if a problem IS happening, it can be caught and reported in real-time.
That SourceCode should belong to the Public, and be considered PUBLIC (if limited use) information.
And any community college -level IT programming class could likely build one, so it shouldn't be difficult to achieve.=)
