JJ Abrams or Joss Whedon (always get those two confused) pointed out the absurdity of having the female lead (Bryce Dallas Howard) running around Jurassic World with high heels.
Jaime King takes on the director of the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX film for his take on why women don't get a crack at directing these blockbuster films. Although in the end Jaime walked back her criticism some (probably for fear of getting Rose McGowan'd).
Colin Trevorrows Comments on Lack of Female Blockbuster Directors Draw Criticism
Known for directing monster hit Jurassic World and recently announced as the director of Star Wars: Episode IX, Trevorrow responded on Friday to a Twitter user asking if he thought he would have been hired for Jurassic World if he were female.
I want to believe that a filmmaker with both the desire and ability to make a studio blockbuster will be given an opportunity to make their case, Trevorrows tweet reads. I stress desire because I honestly think thats a part of the issue. Many of the top female directors in our industry are not interested in doing a piece of studio business for its own sake. These filmmakers have clear voices and stories to tell that dont necessarily involve superheroes or spaceships or dinosaurs.

I'm also surprised when they have women wearing garter belts and stockings. Just some ordinary woman who is meeting her lover, and she's got those on. I had no idea it was still possible to buy them, but I haven't bought such items in decades.
As far as I can tell, women switched en masse to pantyhose as soon as it became available.
